iPhone 7
I want to know about the replacement policy of the iPhone. Does iPhone issue refurbished phone or offer a brand new sealed pack as a replacement?

Your iPhone is also not new either (you said 3 months old)
Anyway, technically refurbished is better product than the one directly from the factory, because all the parts are tested through refurbishing. And you certainly cannot tell the differences.
See. I understand the fact that my phone wasn't new either but at least I know how old it is. A refurbished phone may be older than the one I was already using. Which is where the difference comes in. I will gladly accept the refurbished phone if my warranty period of one year begins from the date on which Apple issues me the refurbished phone. As it will cover my risk even if the refurbished phone is relatively older than my previous phone for a year. This will serve as a proof of the refurbished phone being in proper condition. I hope you understand my concern here.
Apple actually manufactures "extra" phones to be used as service replacements.
The device you receive is unused and only it's internal components may have been previously used. As noted, a new battery is always included and the balance of warranty is included.

So we will have to blindly trust Apple and assume that the used internal components will be up to the mark? Sounds unreasonable to me.
The component failures (other than for batteries) don't increase directly with age. The tend to follow the Bathtub curve.

For electronic components, the right part of the curve (wear out) is decades in the future, so doesn't matter for phones, which will be obsolete long before then.
The left part (infant mortality) does apply, so the components of a used phone tend to have a lower failure rate than those in a new phone.
A refurbished phone is a better choice than a new one.
What would you have Apple do with returned iPhones, throw them away, or reuse any good components?
Then buy something else.
You accepted the risk when you purchased the phone.
You didn't mention what wrong with your iPhone?
Warranty here: Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple
Okay, start here: Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple
Replacement is refurbished iPhone, which is tested with new battery & screen/case.
But my phone was hardly 3 months old. It is not fair on Apple's part to issue a refurbished phone.
My phone was unresponsive. It wasn't working at all. As per the service center it had some issues in the mother board.

But it will have a new battery, which is the only part that ages.
So going by what you're saying, regardless of how old the phone is, if the cell is new then the phone is as good as new. Right?
So we will have to blindly trust Apple and assume that the used internal components will be up to the mark? Sounds unreasonable to me.
