Is it ok to mention brands in a non-fiction book?

Hi guys, I'm contemplating working on a craft/hobby guide. I'm wondering: if I mentioned specific brands of paints or supplies, will Apple reject the iBook submission? Or is it ok to do that?

If you credit the brands and list the perspective copyrights of the brands, you should be ok, but you may want to check to be sure, since you are the one liable for the content in your book.
