I have to boot my MacBook with the OPTION key held down, and then two hard drives show up: Mac OS Installer and my MacintoshHD. I have to select MacintoshHD to be able to start my computer If I pick OS installer, I get an error that "osintall.mpkg" is missing.
Where do I go to delete the installer so I can start booting directly from my Mac HD again instead of having to go through this extra step?

The solution turned out to be directly downloading the update from Apple and installing it. That fixed everything.
Look in your Applications folder for "Install Mac OS".
When booted to your normal drive you should be able to select the startup drive in System Preferences
I found it, but there's no option to "Move to Trash"
You can't just drag it to the Trash?
Nope, there's only one drive showing in Startup Disk and it's not the one that OSX tries to start from. Already did a disk scan and no errors were found
Noe I'm confused, I thought you found it in your Applications folder?
Yes, I deleted that, but at the Root Level folder there's a folder called "macOS Install Data" that I can't delete.
What is the file path?
How do I fix this issue with installer?
