iphone lost

My phone was stolen, I used to be able to view it on my device list on icloud, but I changed my icloud password and it dissapeared, but I can still see it on the find my iphone app (it´s offline). What does this mean, can the thief access my account because I changed my password?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 10.3.2
