Gmail loads very slowly on stock iPhone mail app

Recently (probably the last 2 weeks or so), I have noticed my gmail account using the stock mail app retrieving the emails very slowly. First, it will load where the mail comes from and the subject, but the body of the mail comes in very very slowly, even if I click into that message, the body of the message just shows "LOADING" and never loads the message.

And when I delete an email from the iPhone mail app, it doesn't reflect it on gmail via web browser for a long time.

Has anyone experienced this and any solutions?

I use a few different email accounts, outlook, gmail, etc. I much prefer the method of one app getting all my mails for me. While your solution will work for some, it's not my preferred method. Thanks

My experience is that the built in Mail app is not the best way to get Gmail (actually, not the best way to get much of any mail). You may want to look at third party apps that will allow you to get more than one type of email account.

Hop, Email and Alto are ones I have on my phone that I've tried. They have a wide range of features. I've always ended back with InBox as I only use Gmail and my work email (which I access through Outlook).

IUse one of Gmail's apps (Gmail or InBox). They have the advantage of supporting push, unlike the built in Mail app.
