Hi the buttons on my Apple remote are no longer working. Is it a battery issue or do I need another remote? If I purchase another remote will it work with my Apple TV box right away?

If I purchase a new remote for the Apple TV box will it work right away or will it need to be for that specific box?

A new remote would have to paired.
