MainStage is transposing everything up by about 0.5 semitones...

I am new to MainStage 3 and have my M-Audio 49 key station plugged in to my MacBook Pro (High Sierra) and am using my M-Audio Mobile pre as interface. Every patch in MainStage is a semi-tone too high. I am just learning to use MainStage and haven't played with any of the default settings. Transpose is set to zero. I can transpose each instrument up a semi-tone to get it to play in tune, but that shouldn't be necessary.

When I check the midi settings in the OS X Audio Midi Setup, it has the mobile pre set at 48 kHz. I read that it should be set at 44.1 kHz, but when I did that, terrible distortion noise was produced when playing the keyboard.

I've read of similar issues, but none of the suggested fixes seem to work for me. Any ideas as so fix this issue?

Okay, with some trial and error, I figured it out. I noticed that MainStage audio preference was at 44.1 kHz and my m-audio mobile pre was set to 48 kHz in my Mac midi prefs. For whatever reason, it would not allow me to match it to 44.1 kHz and whenever I tried, it would just switch it right back to 48. So, I noticed that I could change this same setting in MainStage prefs and changed MainStage to 48 kHz to match my mobile pre... and viola - it worked.

I don't know if there is any issue with changing this in MainStage or not... please let me know if I may run in to other problems due to this.

Great that you could figure it out! Of course, the sample rate in your audio interface has to match with the sampling rate of MainStage or any other DAW. I use a Focusrite 18i6 and the Focusrite software has an option that it retrieves the sampling rate from the DAW (from the interface point of view, MainStage is also a DAW). You may check if you have s.th. similar in the driver software of you M-Audio interface.

Thanks. I know m-audio has discontinued the Mobile Pre and no longer supporting any new drivers for it. I wonder if this was part of the issue with not being able to set it to 44.1 Is one sampling rate more desirable than the other? Or, does it only matter that they match?
