I have a photo in photos section and the same photo next to it that I had edited. They are side by side but want to open them together. I hit the shift key to circle both but how can I get both to open next to each other... Want to compare them side by side?

If you mean in the Photos app, you can't. You would have to use a different graphics program that you can open each in it's own window.
