Changed AppleId but still getting emails to old email address

I changed/updated my Apple Id to my "gmail" email versus using my work's email. I am leaving my job and started to transfer everything to my personal email. I am still getting emails to my work email regarding my new phone purchase, 2 step authorizations, logged in,etc. I do not want them getting any of my emails regarding my AppleId. It shows they have been changed in my account and the old address is not in there anywhere. How do i get my emails to STOP coming to my old Apple ID email.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 11.2.6

What to do after [or before] you change your Apple ID email address or password - https://support.apple.com/HT204071 - "After you change your Apple ID email address or password, you might need to update your sign-in information with any Apple services you're using." E.g., if you are getting persistent sign-in messages.
