flights climbed on Apple Watch S3

Greetings, I'm very frustrated with my Apple Watch Series 3. it will not count flights climbed on a consistent basis. i walk up and down the stairs in my house and it never consistently counts them correctly. it counts maybe 1 or 2 out of 3 trips. Never counts the flights climbed in my mothers house, and at my office, it's more miss than hit. oddly enough, a cheap little fitbit never misses. Really Apple? Any thoughts?
