Upgraded to the iPhone X. Didn’t transfer anything over from my iPhone6. I was using a shared gmail account and was not using an iCloud to backup my information. Never used the password on my iPhone6 but now it is asking for it. I have my daughters pictures on this phone and dont want to lose them. Please tell me I am able to retrieve them.
You can retrieve the photos if they are stored somewhere other than the iPhone; e.g., iTunes backup, on your computer.

Is it asking for the screen lock passcode or your Apple ID passcode?
It is the screen lock passcode. 6digits and I have no idea what I used.
