Cannot open my "Photo Library" on my MacBook Air all of a sudden.

All of a sudden my "Photo Library" will not open. The photos are all still on my iPhone, and I imagine they are on my MacBook; but I get a software message" "Photos cannot find the system photo library. You can open another library and set it as the System Photo Library in Preferences."

Can anyone help please?

Have you checked, if your Photos Library is still there?

By default, the Photos Library will be in your Pictures folder. Did you perhaps move the library to a different location, for example on an external drive?

What changed, before Photos stopped working? Did you upgrade to a new system version? Did Photos perhaps crash?

Did you run any cleaning software to remove duplicates?
