audio control fails with ibooks after a while

When I'm using iBooks to listen to an audiobook, I can pause and unpause using the headphone buttons.

But after some time (say, an hour or two), it no longer works. It seems like the app has been suspended, perhaps. To restore control, I have to manually unlock and launch iBooks. Then it starts working again.

Happens on my old 6+ and on my new X.

iPhone X, iOS 11.2.6

Music playback sound level goes up after 3 seconds iMac 24 in M1, OS 11.5.2. In the Music App, the Playback sound goes up after 3 seconds or so when a track is begun after a period of no playbacks. If I select next track whilst one is playing, there is no change in sound level. I've switched sound check on and off, but this doesn't change this behaviour. Also the balance across the sound frequencies changes markedly between low and high volume.

Macbook pro (intel) sound issue while using video conferencing app Hi there, Every time I'm using zoom, google meet, teams, or any other video conferencing app after a few minutes the sound is gone and I need to go to the app setting under sound/speakers and bring it back by selecting another option and reselect the mac speakers again. If it's an in-browser app, I will need to mute and unmute the tab in order for the sound to be back. Any input on this will be much appreciated! Thanks mk

Also, I never see this behavior with Music.
