My iPhone 6Plus storage is full

I connected my iPhone to my Mac then opened ITunes and imported/backed up my Mac. But no box to check that says "delete from device". I was told to use "Image Capture" which also never gave me an option to delete from devicxe. So now I went in to Photos, selected them all( several hundreds) and hit "Delete" They were no longer in that app. However, when I checked my storage it hasn't changed!

Help

Under the photos app, select the “albums” tab at the bottom of your screen (if you do not see things such as camera roll, people, screenshots, etc., use the back button at the top to get to those albums. Scroll down a bit, and you should a an album called “Recently Deleted”. After that you can select all of your photos and hit delete (see the attached screenshot if you can’t find it).
