Question:

Question: Files on External Drive The alias 'name.ext' (etc.) can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found.

MacBook Pro (mid 2015) High Sierra. Finder Search & Spotlight can locate files by name, but clicking the files in a resulting list brings up, "The alias 'name.ext' (etc.) can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found." Even after I locate the file, it gets this message "The operation can't be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -8060)." How can I fix this?
