HP Printer and a 9672 error...

I'm probably not the first to have this problem...

I recently bought an HP Photosmart C3100 All-In-One printer (along with my macbook and airport extreme) and I can imagine all that would work is printing, but anyway... every time I try to add the printer I get an error - 9672

Is there any reason for this, or is it just me missing something? It seems doubly strange as my windows desktop connects to it with no problems at all, just followed the instructions in the Airport manual, but nothing I try can get the mac to add it. I am of course assuming everything is compatible... but then id have thought they would have pointed it out if it wasnt...

macbook, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

When connecting the printer via USB to the AirPort station, you can only use it for simple printing. There is no way to read in photos via CF cards, scan or do anything else.

What I got told from both, HP (own a HP Officejet 9130) and Apple, there is no solution. Either there is a technical limitation, but more likely HP sees no need for improving their drivers.

As far as I know, there are no replacement drivers from unofficial sources.

Use the process outlined here:

HP Printers (and others) not on compatibility list and Airport Extreme Printing

Using the Gimp-Print drivers for the HP PhotoSmart P1000 printer.

The supplied HP C3180 drivers will not work when the printer is connected to an Airport base station.
