How do I remove the lock icon at the top of my phone to the left of the battery icon?
iPhone 6s, iOS 11.2.6

It should disappear when you open your home screen, after entering the passcode or your fingerprint.
If you're referring to the "portrait orientation lock", you should disable it using control center.
