A while ago I switch off my caller ID, my caller ID is now back on, however all incoming calls show as unknown even though these numbers are saved in my contact list. Currently I can not return any missed calls because I can't identify who called me.

The caller ID switch on the phone enables or disables sending your caller ID info; it has nothing to do with incoming caller ID. If incoming caller ID is not working contact your carrier; they control it.
