mac os x interlocking character
MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.2)
Contact apple support, we ran several tests without success.
I remembered that I had the same OS X on other HD.
We copy all font files to the current HD.
I rebooted the OS.
Problem solved 🙂.
Thanks dialabrain for the support.

You can try opening Font Book and choose "Restore System Fonts…" from the File menu then restart or…
Boot into safe mode then restart normally
Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support
You can try testing in a new user account.
How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support
I performed the procedure as indicated but did not resolve.
Any other ideas?
I created a new user of the default type, but the problem remains.
The only thing left I can suggest is to boot into Recovery Mode and reinstall the OS. You may want to wait for another opinion.
The problem came up while using the Preview app to see a pdf file.
It is not possible for an app to detonate OS X.
I'll try a contact with Apple support.
Actually it could just be a coincidence but Apple Support is a good idea.
You're welcome. Glad it's sorted.
