Mail formats forward e-mail as an attachment as a .eml file

I used to use MS Outlook 2011 for Mac as my main e-mail program. Some time ago, I started using Mail. MS Outlook 2011 for Mac still resides on my Mac because I don't want to lose those old e-mails from a particular e-mail address I used to use. I have set Mail as my default e-mail e-mail reader in Mail Preferences. Every time I want to forward an e-mail as an attachment, the attachment is a .eml attachment and becomes a MS Outlook 2011 icon. Is there a setting I am missing or is this normal..? Thanks..!

I thoroughly understand there is an issue with Outlook sending attachments that contain Rich Text to email addresses received on Mac desktop systems as “winmail.dat”, and that the solution is for the Outlook email client to make ensure the HTML or Plain text option is selected in their preferences. What is confusing to me is that when such attachments are sent to two separate email addresses which are setup identically via a Google email server and received via Mac mail, one email has the attachment as “winmail.dat” (which must then be opened via a third party application) and the other email address automatically shows the attachment in it’s original format, whether it’s a PPT file, JPEG image or Word document. Again, Mac mail preferences show that both email addresses have been setup identically except for the actual name in the address field. Is there a solution here that I'm missing?

PC/Outlook recipients complain about Mac Mail attaching blank untitledattachment*.htm files to emails How do I prevent Outlook users receiving "untitledattachment*.htm" files when I send from Mac Mail? It seems to attach one blank untitledattachment*.htm file per attachment, whether I'm sending an attachment or if I'm forwarding an email that may have had attachments (jpegs in email signatures, not belonging to me).
