Seagate Backup Plus connection problem
I cannot get my newly purchased Seagate Backup Plus to connect with my MacBook (2013). I get a message saying "You can't open the application "Start_Here_Mac" because it is not supported on this type of Mac."

How is the disk formatted? It should be Mac OS Extended (Journaled). If not erase the disk in Disk Utility. Choose the upper unindented icon (the entire disk) then format to Mac OS Extended Journaled. It sounds like you are using some disk tools that Seagate provided These are not necessary or recommended for Mac OS and will be erased when you reformat.
I tried this, and all I that has happened is that the Seagate name has disappeared and it is now called 'disk2s2'. I tried renaming it, clicked on 'Mac OS Extended journaled' and it tells me that the Erase process has failed!
There may be a problem with the disk itself. Get in touch with Seagate and have them ship you another one.
