iphone SE locking itself

Hey all,

I have an Iphone SE. I bought it only over a year and a half ago. I have never dropped it or damaged it it is in perfect condition.

However, recently it has started to act up. It keeps locking itself randomly. I can't watch a video without it locking multiple times, I can't call anyone or it locks and sometimes turns off too.

My phone is constantly flashing. It locks, it restarts, it turns off and sometimes has called the emergency number.

I have reset the settings. Any other suggestions? I can't afford a new phone so any advice would be great!

Thanks.

Hi Jennie,

I see that your iPhone SE is randomly locking, restarting, powering off, and calling the emergency number. I can definitely see how this would become tiresome. I'd like to help you reach a resolution.

It sounds like there may be an issue with your Side button. Does it appear to be jammed or damaged? Please follow the steps below to address this issue:

What to do if a button or switch isn't working

  1. Restart your device. If you can't restart your device, try to force restart it.
  2. Remove any protective films and cases that might block the button or switch.
  3. Check for debris or dirt around the button or switch, and clean with a soft cloth.

If you need help with Touch ID, learn what to do.

If the button or switch still isn't working, is damaged, or works intermittently, you might need to set up service for your device. Contact Apple Support, then follow the steps to complete your service request.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for getting back to me. I have restarted my phone numerous times and reset all settings. I am backing up my phone now to completely wipe it and reset it. I have taken the case off and the issue is still happening but there is no debris or dirt.

As it is over a year old it is not under warranty and they have quoted me 250 to send it back so I was hoping someone would have an idea about it.

Thanks,

Jennie.
