New Battery only 95% of Design Capacity
I just had a new battery installed yesterday. Has gone through one cycle. I had it tested and it is only 95% of design capacity. Is this normal or should it be closer to 100%.

There are several possibilities.
OEM or aftermarket? And how are you determining the capacity relative to design capacity?
One of the things I would suggest is to make sure the phone is warmed up. I put it in my pocket and the capacity seems to go up with the tools that I use. It's just one of those odd things.
Hello HardBackStrider,
Thanks for using Apple Communities.
If you have replaced it with a new original part, something seems to be wrong. Apple batteries usually keeps its healthy for a long number of cycles. If you contact AppleCare they can run a diagnostic that shows the real healthy of your iPhone.

So i keep the tip for contacting AppleCare, so they can run a diagnostic that shows the real healthy of your iPhone, including the battery chemical status. If you're at US, the number is 1-800-275-2273.
An Apple Store or an Apple Authorised Service Provider are also able to run this diagnostic.
Well, Coconut is pretty good, so I'd say the battery is really at 95%. Be sure to measure right after charging it to 100%. If it consistently reads 95% capacity contact Apple and have them check it.
It was an Apple installed battery. Using Coconut to measure battery performance.
I am going to run it through a few cycles and tests to make sure there is consistent results. Thanks for the process confirmation.
