Macbook Air Camera

My Macbook Air camera is on the fritz. When I open up Quicktime to video, the image shown flashed to a black screen for varying amounts of time. I have tried this in Quicktime, Facetime HD, and Quick Cam all to the same result. Anyone have any idea on what the problem may be?
