Apple Pencil support in Pages

Word is an app that can add tables, shapes, graphs etc., but still maintain the use of the Apple Pencil within the app. I would highly recommend using Word for this fact alone, because you can make notes on your documents as you’re going along (say if you want to make changes but haven’t got time at that exact moment). However, Pages is far easier, maintains a better layout and is just faster on my iPad Pro. Surely we would all like to make notes and highlight key aspects of our own work, or if we’re marking someone else’s work? So why hasn’t Apple been able to modify their own app, so that their own product can be used successfully on it?
