iPhone 7 Plus hotspot

Hello.

I am considering buying (a) an iPhone 7 Plus from a third party, and (b) a Verizon Wireless unlimited data plan, and have some technical questions about using the iPhone as a mobile hotspot on the Verizon network that I hope you can answer. My questions are:

(1) While the iPhone is acting as a mobile hotspot with my laptop connected to the iPhone via a USB cable, can I:

(a) copy files between the iPhone and laptop, e.g. run an iTunes backup?

(b) charge the iPhone with power supplied over the USB cable?

(c) make a voice call on the iPhone?

(d) receive a voice call on the iPhone?

(2) While the iPhone is acting as a mobile hotspot with my laptop wirelessly connected to the internet via the iPhone, can I:

(a) copy files between the iPhone and laptop, e.g. run an iTunes backup?

(b) charge the iPhone with its AC adaptor?

(c) make a voice call on the iPhone?

(d) receive a voice call on the iPhone?
