I still have Pending payments despite the fact I’ve already purchased the Items

I don’t seem to understand why I still have pending purchases even though I thoroughly recall having sufficient funds at the time.I used my Debit card for payment.Thus meaning I wouldn’t have been allowed to purchase anything whatsoever on the Apple store if I didn’t have sufficient funds.Why did I get charged extra for no explainable reason?
