My iPhone X
I changed the name of my iPhone X and hit done but when I look under my Apple ID it still has the old name. Wat up wit dat?

You make it sound like you expect some instantaneous iPhone name change to occur under your Apple ID. I would expect this to take some time.
You might, for example, consider backing up the iPhone to iCloud, and/or syncing using iTunes. If you do neither of these things, you might wait a day or two.
