How do I check the balance on an iTunes gift card?

I have an iTunes and App gift card as a gift but I won't be using it. I just want to check the balance so I can resell it without redeem and applied to my account.

Why Apple only allow you to check Apple Store gift card at this site Gift Cards - Apple but cannot check iTunes and App Store gift cards?
