Purchased music both not deleting, and automatically downloading despite not wanting it.

I use my family's Itunes account, mostly so that I have acsess to the few songs I purchased through Itunes, with the rest being downloaded from elsewhere. However for the past few months, if someone downloads music onto their laptop, it automatically downloads to mine. Even more, this very night, suddenly all the music anyone has ever bought is not only forcing itself onto my iphone without me doing anything, but when I delete it, it just redownloads itself several seconds later.

This is happening on both my laptop Itunes library and my Iphone music app. How can I stop this? Automatic downloads are turned off, my Show Apple Music is off, and I am signed out of home sharing.

There seems to be an issue with hidden content not staying hidden right now. iTunes is also missing the feature that lets you manage hidden purchases. It isn't yet clear how widespread this issue is, but use Feedback - iTunes - Apple to let Apple know it is happening to you too. I've also had family purchases which I already have matched copies of start showing up in my cloud library over the last few days. I suspect somebody has made an error in an update to the back end of the iTunes Store. 😮

The fact that even if I completely sign out from my entire account, the songs still continue to both download themselves, and reinstall if I delete them is very very annoying. I use my recently added list as a way to quickly get to songs I want, and having songs I will never listen to take up all of the list and push the songs I want out of the list is ******* me off.

Apples management of their music app as a whole has gone downhill. I hope they will finally learn a lot of people don't like their changes

On your computer close iTunes, then delete the Downloads folder from inside the iTunes Media folder. Offhand I'm not sure how you might cancel a download queue on an iOS device, but a forced reset would be a good start.

This issue appears to have been fixed. I still had to delete a bunch of cloud items that ought to have been hidden, but this time they didn't come back. 🙂
