My mac does not see time capsule even when connected by USB

My time capsule crashed when I was attempting to update firmware, I reset it by sticking paper clip in the reset hole, but now my Mac cannot back up I get message that it cannot find Time Capsule, even if I plug into Time Capsule using a USB cable?

I don't want to lose previous backups? what should I do?

The Time Capsule is running version 7.9.1 Previous backups can be accessed and the Time Capsule is visible is visible in the AirPort Utility. When a backup was started the message indicated the drive was not available. Deleted the disk from the Time Machine Preferences thinking adding it back would be the solution. But now the Time Machine preferences can not see the disk to add it back. Any ideas on why one MacBook is working well with the Time Capsule and the other is not? Or how to add the Time Capsule back to Time Machine Preferences? Thanks.

MBPro can't find time capsule MBPro received a message that it could no longer back up to the time capsule (1 TB). My iMac is wired to the TC and all's well there. MBPro Sys Pres, Time Machine/Select disk - "Backup Disks: There's a Data icon - "On Rick's AirPort Time capsule. local" Available Disks - "Other Airport Time Capsule - Set up an AirPort time Capsule that is not listed here." in AirPort Utility, "Other Wi-Fi Devices" yields, "No configured AirPort base stations have been found...." Should be there! Any ideas very welcome. Thanks.

Time Capsule greyed out when trying to upgrade Mohave to Big Sur Updated Mojave to Big Sur on Thursday and have spent DAYS trying to get files migrated to MacBook Air. Backups are on Time Capsule. Entire system was backed up prior to the update. I can see the last backup. When I click on it, however, it goes through the motions of loading and then suddenly greys out and stops. Suggestions on getting access to that backup?
