Pre-ordered book in iBooks

I pre-ordered a book through iBooks last week. It's official release date was March 13, 2018. Yesterday. And yet, I still do not have access to the book. When I wrote to Apple Support for help, they just told me — in an email equivalent of a shrug — that the author must not have actually released the book, and I'll just have to wait. Are you kidding me with this? If I get onto the iBooks Store website (without logging in) I can see clearly that the book has been released and is now available for purchase.

When I go into my account, it lists the book as "Purchased." When I go into my Library, it lists the book as "Pre-ordered." But the only help I get from Apple Support is "it must be someone else's problem."

How do I get access to my book?

iBook, iOS 11.2.6

If you haven't already done so check to see if it's hidden from the Purchased section : Hide and unhide music, movies, TV shows, audiobooks, and books - Apple Support

And if it isn't try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can see why it's not showing : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww or http://reportaproblem.apple.com or https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

It shows in my purchase history when I log into my account in the store. It does not show up in the “purchased” tab of my library. It’s in the “all” tab as “preordered.” If I click on the book in the store it also lists it as “purchased.”

I have tried logging out of my account and back in. Still nothing.

If I log out of my account, I can see that the book is now available to purchase (no longer listed as presale) and people are who have purchased it since it’s release date have had no trouble reading the book. But according to the reviews on the book, I’m not the only person who preordered it who has been unable to access the book.

Thank you so much for all of your advice. I ended up having to contact Apple Support again. They elevated my issue, and the manager who took it over figured was able to see that I wasn’t the only person having the issue. His solution was to cancel my preorder so I could just make a new purchase of the book.

It worked, so problem solved.

Thanks again!
