i cannot open itunes. Just re-downloaded it but I get the same message saying it is locked or unavailable to me.

i cannot open iTunes. I re-downloaded it just now, but it still says it is unavailable to me or locked. I am the only user of this computer.

Any ideas how to get past the locked feature?

To follow up, the error message is "the iTunes library.iti file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file". All I am trying to do is open iTunes and play my music. Thank you. Mare

See the section with bullet points towards the bottom of Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash.
