Why do I have to clear all information on my phone to replace screen. And if you don’t the repair technician will.
If you go to mall kiosks do they have to do that to?
Typically they will replace a screen but if they should have a problem they may end up giving you a refurbished replacement. Your device with all the information would then be sent to who knows where.
I also imagine they want it done because should you later have something personal appear on the Internet you would not be able to blame Apple for revealing it.
