USB PROBLEM

Recently I bought a USB 256 GB and I spent hours transferring files into it.

The result was, when I checked if it could be read, I could see the folders, but some were empty and others not.

Then I tried dragging the files again, some could be read other folders still appear empty, and for the life me, I can't figure it out. I use mac desktop.

Its never happened before.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014), iOS 10, Mac is a 10.10.5

Use Disk Utility to see how the disk is formatted. If you are only going to use the disk with Mac computers, the best format is Mac OS Extended (Journaled) with Option GUID. If the disk is formatted using some other format, I suggest you erase/reformat the drive. Before erasing, recover any files that aren't on your internal hard drive.
