I have a number of playlists from my music library that I want to delete.
It only gives me an option to "delete from library" or "delete downloads". I'm worried that both these options will delete the songs from my library and not just the playlist that I have built from the library. How do I delete a playlist without losing the songs from my library?

If you are getting those options, I think that you are doing something wrong. You only get this option when you try to delete tracks from within a smart playlist. If you select delete from library, your tracks will be deleted. When you delete tracks from a non smart playlist, they are only deleted from the playlist
To delete playlists, You only need to select play list name and then select delete.

You can safely click on delete from library, it will delete just the playlist without deleting the songs from your library.
