How come I have iMessage and its on but sending a message to another iPhone goes as SMS/MMS instead of iMessage?

Hi, note that in order iMessage to work both of the phones must be iPhone and iMessage must be activated on both of the phones..
You can go to Settings --> Message
Make sure that iMessage is turned on then check the "Send and Receive" addresses, at least one row must be ticked.
Then make sure the same thing is working on the other iPhone, else iMessage won't work.
