Question: Smart Keyboard

My iPad is not recognizing the Smart Keyboard. I’m getting an “Accessory Not Supported” error message. I’m having to do a hard reboot every time to get it to recognize the Smart Keyboard. (The “fix” I got from Apple Support here in my area). Anyone hear of a permanent fix for this very annoying and time consuming problem?
