If I already have a college Apple music plan, will I lose my content if I switch to a family plan? I've spent hours adding music and creating playlists, don't want to do that over again just for joining our families' plan.

I guess I would be cancelling my current student plan, and then joining our families' plan. I was the only one with Apple music, but now my dad and sister are joining so we are all going into a plan together.
If you just switch from your Apple ID account to family and do not join an other family you will not lose any of your music or playlists. This will only happen if you are to join a family, then you will need to start all over again with music.
Are you switching your plan to family or are you joining another family plan? I can't say for sure but I think what might happen would depend upon if you are changing a membership or canceling one and joining another.

Yes, what I was describing.
Maybe somebody will contribute who has actually done this but until then that's how I think things would go. You would be canceling your membership so anything associated with that would be lost.
