I need help changing my Ipad Generation 3 IOS 9.3.5 to latest IOS 11.2.6...please HELP

I need help changing my IPAD Generation 3 from IOS 9.3.5 to IOS 11.2.6... I have tried to receive help thru googling it but nothing helps. I have a IPHONe 7plus, and I believe I'm having compatibility problems because the IOS software is different.

Also, I need help changing my ICloud email address; it has an old email that has been corrupted; I have a new email now.

Change your Apple ID - https://support.apple.com/HT202667 - "Follow these steps to change the email address that you use as your Apple ID."

What to do after [or before] you change your Apple ID email address or password - https://support.apple.com/HT204071 - "After you change your Apple ID email address or password, you might need to update your sign-in information with any Apple services you're using." E.g., if you are getting persistent sign-in messages.

Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - https://support.apple.com/HT204204 - Updating will only offer the highest possible iOS version currently supported by that device.

An iPad 3 can't be updated beyond 9.3.5, that's the highest version it supports (it doesn't have the processing power for iOS 10+)
