Call forwarding will not turn off, although it shows off in the phone settings. I cannot receive any calls. I get message...some call forwarding settings could not be changed. What do I do to receive calls?

My carrier is Tracfone and I purchased my iPhone independently, not through them. I have called Tracfone about this problem and they tell me they have nothing to do with call forwarding, it is a phone problem. Should I try again and perhaps ask for a supervisor if I get the same answer?? This is so frustrating!!

Tracphone is, essentially, lying to you. Call forwarding is a carrier feature. It is something that can be turned on or off at their end. However, Tracphone is not really a cellular carrier. They use other carriers's networks. It's possible that the network your phone is using is either Sprint or Verizon. In that case, you can't turn call forwarding on or off from the phone (why those switches are still showing is a different mystery). Those carriers use a short code to turn it off. Try dialing *73 <call> from your phone. You should hear a confirmation tone.
