Why, 3 hours after KiltedTim provided the correct response did you feel you needed to add your response? And your response, which says "We’ll examine your iPhone before we confirm the repair price," would lead someone to think you work for Apple. And you don't.
I composed that on an iPhone and formatting (i.e. a quote box) wasn't an option. I tried editing it later to place it in a quote box but the time to do so had expired.
Also - I'm not concerned if a post is "Apple recommended". I've seen posts that merely link to an Apple Support page and get "Apple recommended". I am concerned that everyone's default response to a question about the warranty and cracked glass is that it could only be due to accidental damage. Everyone seems so hostile to my pointing out that there are cases where a crack can be covered under warranty if it results from a manufacturing defect. Apple even states that ("If your screen cracks due to a manufacturing defect, it’s covered by the Apple warranty.") in their page on iPhone glass repair. Does Apple need to change this to "All screen repairs are caused by accidental damage."?
So for the original poster (if you're still reading this), before you go in for an evaluation, understand what may or may not be covered under warranty. Here's a photo (not mine) of an iPhone 6+ that someone claims had a crack when the box was opened. It has all the signs of a manufacturing defect. It's a single hairline crack, there are no voids in the crack that look like impact damage, and the case looks perfect. There are plenty of reports of people getting glass replacement (or a a replacement device) under warranty, although sometimes it requires escalation.
