Transfer User Preferences to Home User on External Drive - High Sierra

Hi, I'm using High Sierra. I transferred my home user to an external drive but my user preferences seem to have disappeared and preferences are back to the default. Instead of manually changing settings to how I like them, is there a way to migrate my original user preferences so it's linked to the home user on the external drive? Thaks in advance!

Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Ah, yes, I actually used this same article to transfer my user account. And I realize now that I failed to copy over the Library folder because it is hidden. I'm trying to figure out how to copy Library over now but the computer tells me it can't copy the file because it is hidden. Any way to solve this particular problem? Thanks in advance!

Did you try the steps in this article. In your case, you would be copying.
