iTunes: How to list missing songs in albums

Hey guys,

well, I don’t know if there is any way, possibility or even solution to get to run what I’m mulling over… Just give it a shot. Please bear in mind, although not mentioned previously, neither Apple Music nor Beats 1 is subscribed.

Imagine your iTunes Library. There are some complete albums, some singles, some songs out of an album. What I was thinking about is, how to write a script showing me any incomplete albums depending on the currently offered and corresponding iTunes Store Album.

To break down the complexity of my intention:

There is 1 Album [A] in my library. Album “A” contains of 12 songs (3 of 12 songs [song no.3,6,9]) already are imported into my library. Now, I want to run a script showing me all missing songs of this particular album (output: 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11,12). Pretty easy, you say? Quite challenging it was to me.

Yet here it comes: I want to know the name of the song and the band name/ singer of the missing tracks. And this is where I don’t get my act together.

Insights, ideas, help or even solutions are greatly appreciated.
