Turn off videos selectively in iCloud for photos?

Being a father of three, my photos library is growing faster than I can manage to clean it. Now it has grown to the extent that I would need to upgrade my iCloud subscription once again. However, a large portion of the library consists of videos, and I am not as eager to have these available on all my devices and to have them backuped up in the cloud in addition to on my time capsule. Is there any way to turn off videos from being backed up in iCloud, and only keep on backing up photos? I can't find any such setting in Photos, and the only sollution I have come up with is to stop storing my videos in Photos but start using another app, such as iMovie. However, since I like having everything in my Photos library, I reach out here before I move all videos from Photos.

That is not currently an option - you can suggest to Apple - https://www.apple.com/feedback/

Currently the only way to do that is to have two libraries - the system library with photos and/or videos you want to sync with iCloud Photo Library and a sceond one with the itest you do not want to sync - you can use Power Photos to move items between libraries

Most of my videos need editing anyway - stabilizing, trimming,

I am only importing the videos to my iCloud Photo Library, that have been edited and that I want to see on all my devices.

You could import your videos first to iMovie, and then save the edited versions to Photos.
