Hiding itunes music

This morning I noticed my Iphone and iTunes had a bunch of songs I purchased years ago on them, easily 6+ years ago for some of the songs and so long ago my iCloud doesn't even recognize them. The songs have the little cloud download logo next to them. I tried hiding the songs, Unchecking them, re-downloading them and deleting them and they keep popping up. Is there anyway I can hide them again so they stop popping back up? and why all of a sudden are they popping up? Has anyone else experienced this? Weird little glitch maybe?
