I have a fully updated iPhone X, 256 GB. When I move out of a building and lose my wireless signal, or when I lose my cell signal, it takes my phone forever to search for a new or better signal. Most of the time, I have to put my phone into airplane mode, take it out, and I end up with a good signal. I can't seem to find anything on this.

I did all of that before posting. The phone simply won't search for a new signal quickly enough. It can take five minutes for it to find a new signal, when I know a signal is available. I have to manually put it in airplane mode and take it out to get a signal.
If this happened to me, instead of routinely toggling Airplane Mode, I would instead restart the iPhone and/or reset network settings.
Did that, many times.
