Hi,
Logic Pro X uses the Mellotron plugin instrument, but it doesn't appear in MainStage. This is the only one that doesn't.
If I load a preset containing the plugin, it is disabled.
Any ideas?

The plug-in version of the Vintage Mellotron was introduced in Logic Pro X 10.4.
Unfortunately MainStage hasn't been updated since, hence the lack of instrument.
You can however use the Patch version instead.
Create a new Patch then select Instrument > Vintage Mellotron >, and the instrument you would want to use from the Patch Library.

Hi, thanks yes that makes sense, sort of. I assumed Mellotron was a plug-in (bundle) of which MainStage would see the same as Logic does, seems not. Anyways. Yes thank you that works. Using the EXS24 version of the same sound works fine. thanks 🙂

The separate instruments themselves are always part of the separate application bundle.
This is why Playback, Loopback, and AutoSampler isn't a part of Logic.
The downloadable content is however shared between the two as it resides outside of the bundle itself.
Mellotron plugin not appearing in MainStage 3. Works in Logic. Any ideas?
