How to permanently disable Catch Playhead

Catch Playhead makes the screen move unexpectedly so I click on things I didn't mean to click on. Why would anyone ever want Catch Playhead enabled?

I can turn off Catch Playhead temporarily by clicking the Catch Playhead icon or pressing the tilde key, but Catch Playhead is turned back on automatically when I make certain actions. How can I permanently disable Catch Playhead?

The "Catch Playhead" is one of the features available in GarageBand and Logic Pro X, but the implementation in GarageBand is limited.

Logic provides the option to determine the behavior of the Catch Playhead (see screenshot below). One of those options is "Catch when Moving Playhead". This is the option that is always enabled in GarageBand. It means that when Catch Playhead is disabled, it will automatically enable when you reposition the Playhead, i.e., click somewhere on the Playhead Ruler.

There are three different buttons to enable "catch playhead", one for the Track area, one for the Piano Roll, one for the "Score" view. Switching between these views might make it appear, as if the playhead gets enabled on its own. "Catch playhead" needs to be disabled in all three places. Then it should remain off. Does it get enabled, even after you disabled it in all three places? Does it get enabled for all projects or only for your current project?
