How can you use the ipencil to write on photos?

Yes.


Open the photo in the photos App, tap on the "Edit" text at the top right corner, then on the circle with 3 dots (...) and then on Markup.


You'll get a set of tools to write and draw on the photo.

You can, also, find third party, Apple Pencil compatible apps that can do this.

There are lots of photos apps that do this. Some notes apps that do this, as well.


Do a search in the iOS App Store for write on photos and then for notes apps. Read the descriptions for Apple Pencil compatibility.


Some write on photos app really do not need the Apple Pencil to work, too!

Some work fine with finger and/or regular capacitive or fine point “active” (powered) capacitive stylii.
